Fruit Fly
Curiosity,
Such an odd feeling,
How can one desire something they have never had?
To burn with passion yet nothing to ignite its flame,
Wishing to fly, yet never leaving the ground
Praying for immortality, yet not even living the life they have now.
Curiosity is the driver for innovation,
And the catalyst for destruction.
You… I mean curiosity
Gives me the wings of Icarus to soar,
Yet is the very sun that causes me to plummet.
Why draw closer to the source of one's demise?
Is death worth the concept of knowing?
Maybe,
Knowing is life itself,
To experience,
To fulfill,
Then to perish
Like a fruit fly.
