Perfectly Imperfect

You mask the pains of your heart with an endearing smile, Captivating all with the music of your voice, Drawing eyes away from the scars you bear. But I am not fooled. Yes, your voice serenades me, Wrapping my heart in the warmth of your embrace. Yes, your smile pulls me in, Like a moth drawn helplessly to a flame. Yet what truly captivates me is your heart— All its scars, its battles, its quiet courage. Perfectly imperfect, I do not crave your beauty, But the essence behind it. I do not wish merely to feel it, But to embrace it wholly, To wipe the tears from your eyes, To hold you when the world leaves you broken. Know this: Even if you gouged my eyes, tore me limb from limb, I would still find my way to your heart, For it is there that I belong.
