To Be Swallowed by the Sea
Dear Calista
Would you forsake your last breath,
if you could behold the beauty of the ocean?
To be swallowed by the sea,
to be at its mercy,
held in its embrace as you explore its depths.
The Sun begins to fade into nothingness,
and only darkness is to behold.
Yet in this moment
its beauty becomes clear.
In that last breath,
as the water rushes in to my lungs
finally, me and the ocean
have become one.
