To Become One Breath

Dear Calista

Breath, like rays emanating from the sun, is an extension of something greater. But I hate this analogy, because one may never truly experience the sun without tasting death. I wish to experience your beauty for eternity, to intertwine with the essence of your soul. I don’t merely want the rays, but the sun itself. Not even just the sun, but the matter and molecules it’s made of. As the divine stands as a conductor, your voice becomes the head of a heavenly choir. My name echoes throughout our matrimonial concert hall. The air thickens when I speak your name, as if the world itself inhales in anticipation— as if creation pauses just to feel the echo of you vibrating through me. In that suspended breath, where time forgets its duty and desire begins its quiet ascent, I feel you— not beside me, not before me, but within the very rhythm of my pulse. Your presence winds around my spirit like silk drawn slowly across bare skin, soft, deliberate, impossible to ignore. Every part of me leans toward you, as if my body knows truths my mind is still learning to confess. In the sanctity of that closeness, where your soul brushes mine, I become aware of every subtle hunger— the longing in my chest, the heat blooming beneath my ribs, the ache that whispers your name in a language older than speech. Our connection is not merely felt; it unfolds— petal by trembling petal— until even the divine must look away in reverence for what we are becoming. And as your essence intertwines with mine, slow and certain, I realize with a quiet urgency that I don’t simply want to hold you… I want to inhabit you, to know the architecture of your being, to explore the hidden rooms of your spirit where your deepest light is kept. To be so close that your breath becomes my breath, your heartbeat my metronome, your desire, the flame that shapes me. So let the heavens fall silent, let eternity lean closer, for in this moment of sacred longing, you are not just my beloved— you are the gravity that pulls me, the fire that consumes me, the very warmth rising in my chest that refuses to be anything but yours.
