Unconditional
The world judges me as a sum of my successes,
And my failures,
My weaknesses, my strengths.
But You are different,
Like a baby fresh from the womb of its mother,
My heart laid bare,
You see me for who I truly am.
Your words are like glue,
The shards of my heart unite in Your hands,
And for the first time, I feel whole.
Love.
Unconditional.
Unabated by my humanity,
An abundance of mercy awaits,
A river that never ceases,
Flowing into the deepest cracks of my soul.
To what extent must I be connected to a world
That seeks to exploit, to judge, to diminish me,
When Your love exists?
A love that needs no justification,
That asks for nothing, yet gives everything.
The beauty of the love You have shown to me
Leaves all worldly things pale and lackluster.
Every accolade, every praise, every fleeting joy
Fades beside Your infinite compassion.
The depths of Your love have no bounds,
No edge, no measure, no shadow.
I wish to sink deeper,
To be enveloped in Your tender mercies,
To breathe in the grace that steadies me,
To rest in the warmth that shields me,
To lose myself and find myself
In the endless ocean of Your love.
Here, in the quiet,
I am known, I am cherished, I am enough.
Here, my soul remembers
The song it was always meant to sing,
And I rise, renewed,
Cradled in the unconditional embrace
That neither falters nor fades
