Unworthy, Yet Chosen
Dear Calista
I twist in quiet agony when another dares to steal a glance at you.
To behold the divine is no small privilege— only the worthy should lift their eyes. Only the reverent should draw near.
Yet none are worthy of you. Not even me.
Still… God has shown me mercy.
For if He had placed me in a world where you did not exist, I would sooner depart that world than wander it hollow and untouched by your light.
Life without you would be a bird stripped of its wings, a stallion robbed of its legs.
And yet… I was chosen.
Drawn into something sacred. Given a vocation I did not seek, but am blessed beyond measure to bear:
the calling to behold you, to honor you, to feel your presence shape the very breath in my chest.
